Ibiza lies 80 kilometres off the Spanish mainland and are part of the Spanish Balearics. The Balearics are a cluster of over fifty islands the biggest being Ibiza and second Formentera both of which can be reached by a short ferry. These islands originally called Pitiusas which translated means Pine Islands because of the vegetation which covers the majority of the island today. The islands many prehistoric buildings and strong defence holds can still be made out today, some dating back to a time when Romans ruled Europe.

The winters are chillier in the day where you can expect 17 degrees and 9 degrees at night.

Ibiza is relatively small and can be conquered by taxi or bus, both of these services run less frequently throughout the winter season. A perfect way to see the island is via the many rental companies located around Ibiza. The islands roads are of a superb standard and are wonderfully signposted to the various sights.
